Skiathos: The most astonishing beaches…
Koukounaries
At a distance of 10 kilometres away from the centre of Chora, we found the Koukounaries beach, which has been included many times in one of the most beautiful of the Mediterranean Sea. It is the most known beach on the island and is also known as “Chryssi Ammos(Golden Sand)” as its sand is extremely thin and it shines under the sun. We were shocked by the crystal waters of the sea despite the many people that were swimming. The azure waters and shallows offered us moments of endless playing in the sea.
Lalaria
For many people, this beach is the most beautiful of Skiathos as it has a magnificent and grand upright rock. The scene is admirable and is completed with the turquoise, clear waters that resemble those of the pool and its big white pebbles on the coast. When we got there we couldn’t believe in our eyes what we were facing. A scene that I’ll never forget.
Banana
Yes! We are finally to the most famous beach on the island known for its amusement. Filled with young people that were partying and playing on the beach. Full of taverns and bars with loud music. We were impressed not only by the huge party but because of the beauty of the beach. It was a very clear sea that was shining and the huge pine trees were completing this beautiful scenery.
Mandraki
Mandraki region is located in the western part of the island and consists of three beautiful bays: Xerxis’ harbour, Elias’ bay and Agkistro. To get there we had to cross a forest with sandy ground which you can approach only by motorbike or bike. As we were heading to the north the scenery was changing and was becoming wilder and more impressive. At Xerxis’ harbour, we were thrilled by the clear waters, the golden sand and the wild scenery. Elia and Agkristros are two peaceful beaches and not as organized as the others.
Kanapitsa
It is one of the most popular beaches on the island in the Kalamaki foreland. We visited it on the last day as it is located 7 kilometres away from Chora. It has been awarded a Blue Flag and justly as we were thrilled by the sand and its clear waters. The beach is organized with taverns, cafes and sunbeds that dominate the beach. Wherever we went we were thrilled by the beaches and that made us wonder why this island has only been related to amusement as it has many more things to offer.

Patitiri
Patitiri is the capital of the island and the port where all the ships arrive. It’s a charming village, which was named after the wine pressers, due to the fact that the locals back then, were wine-growers. In this part of the island you will find many places, such as tavernas and cafeterias, where the visitor can enjoy the view of the port with the many fishing boats and the sailing boats. At the end of the port there is a small beach with beautiful blue and green, clean waters and some cliffs with pine trees, which are being illuminated by headlamps at night. At Patitiri, you will also find various services and the only bank on the island.
The Old Alonissos
The Old Alonissos, or the Old Village or the Country is a beautiful place from where you can enjoy a big part of the island, as well the sea from both sides of the island. If you walk through the paved alleys of the village you will find steep steps and traditional stone houses with grapevines and colorful flowers. Taking a walk in the village, you will find cute shops with traditional things of the island and local products, such as handmade pasta, liquor, spoon desserts and almond biscuits. Don’t forget to visit “Hagiati”, a pastry shop, with delicious sweets, and also the restaurant “Peri Orexeos”, where you will find exquisite meats. Before leaving the village, you should visit the chapel of Saint Onuphrius, outside the Old Alonissos, where you can enjoy the sunset.
National Marine Park
The National Marine Park of North Sporades is the biggest European marine park and the first founded in Greece. Here you will find a unique amount of land and marine habitats, and also important archeological and historical monuments. In places where the access to the public is free, the visitors are allowed to swim, dive, observe the wildlife, take photos, visit monuments, or take a walk. You can take the boat from Patitiri to the small islands of the sea park and if you are lucky enough you may see a seal monachus-monachus.
The most gorgeous beaches on the island!
In the end, we will present you the best beaches on the island. All the beaches of Alonissos are really clear with crystallic blue waters. Most of them have pebbles, but some have sand. One of the most beautiful is the beach Chrysi Milia. It’s about 6 kilometers away from Patitiri and is an organized beach with fine sand. It can also be considered as paradise for the kids, because the waters are very shallow and clean. All around the beach there is a pine forest and the place smells wonderful like thyme. One more beach is Megalos Mourtias, it’s 5 kilometers away from Patitiri from where you can see Skopelos. It’s an organized beach with really clear waters and pebbles . In this beach you will find three taverns upon the waves and between the olive trees. Last but not least, is the beach Agios Dimitrios. It is considered as the most beautiful beach of Sporades and it was named after the monastery of Saint Dimitrios, which was destroyed by Pirates. It is a wonderful organized beach with blue and green waters and pebbles, which provides a parking area for the visitors and many taverns to choose from. It is 15 kilometers away from Patitiri, and is very easy to get there. Pay attention while entering and leaving the beach, because the road is very narrow. You will find the most economic combos for Alonissos only on our website. The sooner, the better! https://www.thegreeks.com/en/hotels/in/alonnisos
A walk at the cobblestone streets of Paros!
Punda Beach
Paros has taken care of everyone! Minors and adults! We used to see Tsilipounidaki, the famous journalist, with his camera at Punda Beach capturing all the celebrities and the beautiful people that were enjoying the sun, the bath, their drink and the dancing by the most famous DJ’s wild rhythms! Punda was nice as well! We have taken the bus that goes there and had fun along with the rest young people!
Naoussa vs Parikia
I mostly enjoyed Naoussa and Parikia. I tried tasteful food next to the graphic port of Naoussa, I took a lot of baths in the wonderful sea that was located exactly in front of the hotel, I took the best pictures on the rocks, I also searched its campings with the Italians whose mood and vivid presence fills the place. Even though the comparison is difficult I have to admit that I fell in love with Naoussa!
