Paros is one of the most beautiful and cosmopolitan islands of the Cyclades. It is a destination that attracts more and more people as its beautiful beaches, delicious food and intense daily routine create the ideal destination. An ample to Parikia and Naoussa is enough for someone to be charmed by the island’s appeal. Parikia is the capital of the island and the centre of every activity while Naoussa is located on the north coasts of Paros and is undoubtedly one of the most graphic coves of the Aegean Sea.
Parikia
It is the capital of Paros and is built on the island’s bay and apart from the beautiful settlements, the narrow streets and the alleys of the old town it also has many sights like Panagia Ekatontapiliani, the Archeological Museum, the Hill of the Venetian castle, the sanctuary of Asclepius and Pithio. Of course, it does not barren of beaches. Livadia, Krios and Martselo are the most known.
Naoussa
Naousa in Paros is a traditional fishing village that retains its character until today. Apart from the traditional style and the splendid archaeological monuments, Naoussa is the centrepiece of Paros due to its hospitality. The atmospheric bars, the fish taverns with the fresh seafood and the intense nightlife have contributed to the island’s touristic development.

Skiathos is the most famous destination in the Sporades. Its main characteristic is the nightlife, which makes it a landmark destination for the youth. Where to begin for this island? It is near to all the places in Chora and going there is very easy. The cosmopolitan island of the Sporades “is charged” through the winter so be ready to welcome thousands of tourists this year. Let’s go to its second-best card, the beaches. Who went there and didn’t visit Koukounaries, Vromolimno, Lalaria and Agia Eleni?
Koukounaries
It is the most known beach on the island and one of the best in the Mediterranean sea. It is a protected region along with the wetland of Strofilias lagoon and is the signature beach of the island. Water sports, hotels, taverns and of course many beach bars is what someone will face the moment of their arrival on the beach.
Vromolimnos
Vromolimnos beach is overwhelmed daily by young people and is accessible by car or by boat from Skiathos’ harbour. The loud music and beach bars offer you whatever you need to spend all your day there, it’s the reason why some people prefer this beach.
Lalaria
Even though it is a beach that is accessible only by the sea, is one of the most beautiful beaches of Greece that made Skiathos famous. The admiration and awe are one of a kind when someone sees the big white rocks and the one with the huge hole in the middle. Its main characteristic is the small round stones that are created from the winds and cover the sea for millions of years now.

Skiathos invites you to take part in its spirited vibe. It is a cosmic island and ideal for vacations, with a lot of people, great history, uncountable beaches, special intense life and of course, a unique atmosphere that carries you away to the green island of the Sporades.
Chora and Bourtzi
As you enter the harbour, you are welcomed by Bourtzi, an island full of pine trees. On the opposite side of you, the Chora of Skiathos is amphitheatrically spread with the red rooftop houses that look like they want to separate themselves from the sea. Two places, that is worth spending some hours of the day.
Beaches that cater for all tastes
Which beach to choose first? Beachside bars, taverns, water sports, umbrellas and sunbeds… The amusement in the beaches of Skiathos has transformed into art. Big banana, Troullos, Agia Paraskevi, Kanapitsa, Xanemos, Big Aselinos and many others, are there and promise you a unique summer.
Nightlife
Vacations in Greece are usually combined with idyllic sceneries in wonderful islands but in Skiathos, it’s the intense life that differs. Amusement in Skiathos lasts 24 hours the day, as visitors know to have fun during the night until the next morning. You will find bars for relaxing situations and wild parties as well.

An island with many alternative activities: ambles with your friends, scuba diving, horse riding where the wave breaks, mountain biking, waters sports and much more that make you go crazy.

Apart from Papadiamantis residence where you can see many personal objects of the writer’s everyday life, there are many other sights in the city. Of course in Skiathos, there are many churches you should visit. Furthermore, from the town of Skiathos all the itineraries to the outermost regions and inaccessible beaches of the island.

As we were organizing our summer vacations last year we saw on Facebook an offer for a five-day trip to Skiathos. We wanted to visit this place for years and never found the chance to do it. So, we decided to make it this year’s destination. We immediately made the reservation and the next week we sailed to the Sporades. An unstoppable group of girlfriends ready for crazy parties. We were excited that we were about to experience all the things that our friends, that had already been there, described to us and we were looking forward to getting to the island and taking photos. We lived five days of carelessness and joy and… moments before this trip was over we promised that the next year it will be the same. So, this year, it is Skiathos again!!!
Banana
An unbelievable beach on the Skiathos island. It has the best beach bars on the island. Of course, we couldn’t miss it. A fantastic beach with thin sand and azure waters. This place was filled with young people and we couldn’t believe that we were part of this crazy beach party. Whistles, music, drinks were abundant and we had already begun to live on the crazy rhythms of the island. A craziness that continued for the rest of the days as well.
Koukounaries
A beach that was like it came out of a fairytale couldn’t be missed. We saw so many pictures of this magic scenery that it was impossible to not be a part of it. Golden sand, azure waters and full of young people. I wonder if there is better scenery for us somewhere else. After dipping in the sea and taking our pictures we were ready to meet new people from around the world and not only. Soon enough we were a huge group of people that were dancing and having the greatest of all time!
Kahlua Club
It is the best bar in Skiathos. Music that caters for all tastes, foreign and greek, and nice drinks. The personnel was very polite, serviced us quickly and helped us find somewhere to sit as the place was full. Infatuated young people were dancing and drinking everywhere converting the place into a huge party. We were excited as well and we were having fun without concerns until the morning.
Maxilares
We have heard so many things about that place…We visited it on our last night. Stores that have placed big cushions on the paved street and turned it into a relaxing scenery. We couldn’t stop taking photos. We were sitting on the cushions while drinking our cocktails and we were laughing while remembering the moments we spent on the island. There we promised one another that Skiathos will be our destination for the next summer.

Beaches
The island fascinates everyone with its famous beaches which are approachable and you can get there by bus or even on foot. The most characteristic is Lalaria beach with the azure waters, white pebbles and steep rocks, the Koukounaries beach with the golden sand beach, the Megali Ammos beach with its clear waters. In the north part of the island, there are also beaches that are very quiet and secluded. The choice is yours.
Amusement
It’s certain that the nightlife of Skiathos and especially the nightlife at Chora is very intense and this is due to the youth that visits the island. There are many suggestions for amusement that cater for all tastes. There are the night bars which have the most intense life, there are buzukia as well, and places with an English profile for crazy nights of rock & roll. The choice is yous.
Food
Unlimited choices of tastes and restaurants are offered on the island of Skiathos. The fresh fish and the seafood have prominent placement in this category as they are plenty of them on the island. Do not forget to try some of the local products such as traditional honey and olives. Apart from the numerous and beautiful beaches of the island, there are many visitors that can eat at numerous restaurants as well.
