Vienna: the Schönbrunn Palace

Vienna is the capital of Austria and is the cultural and financial heart of the country. Touristically, Vienna will surprise you with the atmosphere of its glorious past, its impressive sightseeings and its delicious tastes of food, like schnitzel! The prices are quite reasonable and considered rather cheap compared to other European capitals.

Schönbrunn Palace

Schönbrunn Palace and its wonderful gardens have been one of the most popular cultural sights of the country since 1960. In the past, it was the summer residence of the royal family. The palace was a gift from her father to Maria Theresa. After her coronation, the queen decided to turn the palace into a summer resort and changed its architecture to a more modern style, while also making the gardens. During the 19th century, Emperor Franz Josef I, who spent most of his life in the palace, remodeled the palace to its current form. The French gardens are the ideal place to take some photos. If you’re there during summer, don’t miss to visit the gardens while you can also visit the impressive interior of the palace. Try to go early in the morning so as to avoid the long queues.
