Ios is known for its cheese production. It possesses a creamery and produces many types of cheeses like ‘skotyri’ which has a spicy flavor and a savory scent, ‘xinotyri’ which is a creamed one, ‘kefalotyri’ or ‘gruyere’ cheese as well as ‘mizithra’ cheese!
