Phuket: The must-see attractions!

Phuket is one of the southern provinces of Thailand and is located in the Andaman Sea. Throughout its history many were those who wanted to conquer it, mainly because of its favourable trade position between India and China. The Netherlands, France and England fought with each other to dominate the island, not only because of its location but also because of its natural wealth in tin and rubber. Its original name was Thalang, which comes from the Malaysian suffix telong meaning “cape”, a name still used in the north of the island. Its current name comes from the word “bukit” which means “hill” in Malay, because of its appearance when viewed from afar. After the shocking tsunami of 2004, it has returned to its previous rhythms and is again one of the most important destinations in the world. Regarding Phuket attractions, the truth is that one wouldn’t expect there to be so many. Depending on your preferences, you can walk in the rainforest to explore and admire the animals and nature, visit the dozens of islands around Phuket or the Big Buddha and admire the view of the whole city, and much more.
