The Beaches
They are a “must-see” of the island as it isn’t possible to pass by its beaches and waters without being enchanted. Everyone knows “Red Beach”. This is a real attraction, since the red volcanic rocks with the fine, red pebbles of the beach come into conflict by the sea and literally “take your breath away”. “Kamari” then promises to enchant you too. It isn’t a beach like all the others, as it’s one of the most famous beaches, not only on the island, but in the whole Cyclades. Just above this beach is the place where the settlement of ancient Thira was built.
