The impressive Plaza Mayor is a pole of attraction for locals and tourists. We’re talking about Plaza Mayor, the central square of Madrid that closes 400 years of existence this year. Plenty of activities have taken place so far to celebrate the famous square. The greatest of all is the transformation of the square into a giant and impressive urban park. Specifically, a green temporary installation was designed to impress locals and foreigners.

In the heart of the capital’s historic and touristic center, the creation of the square was commissioned by King Philip II in the late 15th century and was designed by the architect Juan Gomez de Mora. So, to celebrate its birthday, Madrid turned the square into an urban park for 4 days. Seeing the rectangular gap, the circular field has a diameter of 70 m, which creates an amazing result. Plaza Mayor is definitely the place to enjoy your beer with appetizers, especially the bocadillo de calamares which is a bread baguette with squids.
